I am really excited to start dyeing this year's advent calendar! This year's theme is based on a Gothic Romance, think old castle ruins, haunted houses, flowing gowns and forbidden desires, flickering candles and dramatic flowers and leafy ferns. The yarns will be a dark, moody affair and they will be arranged to fade/flow from one to the next. There will be speckles and glazing, some subtle variegations and lots of beautiful tones, if you are looking for 25 solid colours then this is not the advent for you. The mood boards should give you some idea of the colours I'm thinking about
The daily advent contains 25 individually wrapped mini skeins as well as a couple of carefully chosen themed extras* and a handmade project bag using themed fabric picked especially for this advent. All of the above comes in a lovely presentation box which can be reused afterwards.
*extras may be edible or scented, please advise of any allergies
There are 3 different yarn base options to chose from. The lovely 'smooth' sock, the 'soft twisty' sock and the 'smooth' DK. There are different sizes of mini skeins available. Both sock options are available in 5g, 10g, 20g and 50g skeins and the DK base is available in 10g, 20g and 50g skeins.
There is the option to add a 100g tonal skein, dyed for this advent. There is a separate listing for the tonal skein

5g sock/4ply is approx 21m per mini
10g is approx 42m per mini
20g is approx 85m per mini
50g is approx 212m per skein

All advents will be mailed out at the beginning of November using a signed for delivery service, other than the coordinating tonal, please order advents separately from other items in the shop.

Due to the hand dyed nature of hand dyed yarns, no two skeins are exactly identical, even when dyed together at the same time within the same dye lot.
Yarn is thoroughly rinsed in plain water, (we do not use soaps or soaks, scented or otherwise) but a small amount of colour run may occur during the first wash, especially if a soap or soak is used. Although this yarn is superwash and can be machine washed on a wool setting, hand washing is recommended in cool/lukewarm water then lay flat to dry.
Each skein has been hand dyed using professional grade colourfast dyes. All yarn bases have been ethically sourced and are cruelty free (non-mulesing).
We always try to accurately represent yarn colours but due to monitor variations the colours may vary slightly. Our photos are taken in natural light
We are a smokefree, pet friendly household. All of our yarns are stored away from the pets and every care is taken to ensure our pets do not come into contact with the yarn.
